Heavy equipment packages to go under the hammer

The first auction will be held in Brisbane on Tuesday, 27 November, while the second will be held in Geelong on Thursday, 29 November.

Ritchie Bros recently made the decision to move the Brisbane auction date to the end of the month due to a number of sellers wanting to negotiate end of year consignment packages.

Both auction sites have also signed large construction packages.

Retiring business

After a 41-year history, Victorian excavation and earthmoving contractor JR & RR Wescombe is retiring its business and selling its equipment. Over the years, it has worked across a variety of sectors, including dam construction, agriculture, roadwork and mining.

“This is one of the nicest packages of heavy equipment we’ve seen from a single contractor in Geelong,” said Ritchie Bros sales director Finlay Massey.

“It’s all been excellently maintained and cared for. I expect the Wescombe equipment will be highly sought after by buyers because of the name they have built for themselves over the past four decades.”

Wescombe’s equipment fleet comprises 23 Caterpillar trucks (including seven 775F models and five 775E models), six Caterpillar dozers (including two D9T models and a D8T), and 15 hydraulic excavators (including a Cat 390D LME and two Cat 349DLs).
