Latest industry tech on show

Running from 29 to 31 August at the Sydney Showgrounds, the free to attend event will host a variety of products in industries such as construction, conveying, earthmoving and mineral processing.

The theme of this year’s conference – ‘The Future of Mining’ – will centre on three key areas – mining innovation, surface mining and underground mining.

AIMEX event director Brandon Ward said the conference would provide attendees with the opportunity to explore the latest technologies available in the industry. The program will feature more than 30 experts across 16 sessions.

“Event attendees will have the opportunity to draw on key insights on the future of mining, discover what emerging technologies and practices are available and better understand how best their operations can stay competitive and sustainable in an ever-changing sector,” Ward said.

“AIMEX also provides mining industry professionals with the chance to meet one another, exchange ideas, network and generate new business leads.”

Event highlights

This year, AIMEX will host multiple keynote presenters, including World Coal Association chairman Mick Buffier, head of Telstra mining services Jeannette McGill, CSIRO research director for hard rock mining Dr Ewan Sellers, and Coal Services CEO and managing director Lucy Flemming.

In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to connect face to face with leading industry suppliers showcasing the latest technologies. Some of the highlights will include a void scanner designed to produce 3D laser scans of underground voids and multi-channel laser sorting technology for quartz and gold processing.

There will also be planned networking events running over the three days, including one sponsored by METS Ignited and another by Austmine Organisers.

AIMEX non-executive chairman David Moult said the mining industry had come through one of the most ‘difficult periods’ in its history and is now looking for new opportunities to grow and develop.

“The exhibition and conference provides sectoral leaders, suppliers and operators the platform to discuss the current state of the industry, showcase the latest innovations entering the sector and discuss what more is required for future growth,” Moult said.

The AIMEX trade show is organised by Reed Exhibitions will run from 29 – 31 August 2017 at the Sydney Showground in Sydney.
