The impact cradle consists of one or more transverse saddles that provide an ‘elastic mattress’ to support the conveyor belt.
Abrasion-resistant plates mounted on each of the saddles act as the wear component. These are easily replaced when necessary, which can be cost-effective compared to replacing the entire saddle or, in the case of an impact bed, the support bar.
In addition to protecting the conveyor belt, the impact cradle helps reduce lateral spillage from skirts due to its material self-centring effect and does not wear when the belt is running empty.
The impact cradle can be adapted to any trough angle from 20 to 70 degrees and allows for fast and easy maintenance.
