Kleemann, part of the Wirtgen Group, has entered into a long-term co-operation agreement that will combine its mobile crushing expertise with FLSmidth’s cone crusher technology.
“As FLSmidth is the main provider of productivity within minerals and cement and Kleemann has a strong foothold in the construction industry, [this partnership] provides a unique opportunity for FLSmidth to expand into adjacent markets,” Manfred Schaffer, group executive vice president for FLSmidth’s minerals division, commented.
FLSmidth and Kleemann will work together to supply mobile cone crushing plant to the construction industry.
Positioning and productivity technology specialist Trimble has also signed agreements with two machinery suppliers.
Trimble will integrate its 3D machine control solution with the Dig Assist 2D technology on Volvo Construction Equipment’s (Volvo CE) excavator range. Both Trimble’s machine control solution and Volvo CE’s Dig Assist system are designed to provide operators with information on the machine’s movements on an in-cabin display.
According to Trimble, the incorporation of Trimble’s 3D machine control solution will provide Volvo CE excavator operators with additional 3D constructible models, as-built data and other useful information via Trimble’s Connected Site solution.
“Contractors are seeking new ways to improve competitiveness, efficiency and productivity,” Bryn Fosburgh, vice president of Trimble Engineering and Construction, stated. “Tightly integrating Trimble solutions with Volvo allows our mutual customers to more easily leverage construction technology in their business.”
Similarly, Trimble will be working with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) to integrate, engineer and market “factory-fit” machine control kits that will enable the installation of Trimble’s GCS900 grade control system on selected HHI excavators in the aftermarket.
The so-called “Trimble Ready” kits are expected to reduce machine downtime by eliminating the need for drilling, welding, re-painting and/or disassembly when installing GCS900 components.
Jim Green, business area director for Trimble OEM Solutions’ civil engineering and construction division, said, “The integration of factory-fit Trimble Ready kits with HHI excavators will bring HHI customers a proven, cutting edge solution that can be ordered right from the factory.”
