According to Australian dust management specialist Reynolds Soil Technologies (RST), Zero, the latest addition to its product range, does not require an ongoing watering program and has an easy, spray-on application.
RST operations and technical director David Handel explained that Zero could be used in any trafficked areas where watering was not an option. “These could be haul roads to walking paths and anything in between,” he said. “Zero can be used across both large or small mass areas.”

Handel stated that Zero had been formulated to meet the highest global standards of environmental regulations, adding that it was clear, free-flowing and odourless.
“It has penetrating and aggregating properties that allow the Zero solution to permeate into the individual fine particles, weighing them down so they are unable to be blown away as dust,” he explained. “The Zero product’s unique formula creates a long term, re-workable solution that doesn’t evaporate or freeze.”
Zero’s recommended dosage rate varies, depending upon traffic types and volumes, material type and the time required for the material to remain dust free.
However, it was noted that the instantly curing solution would have a cumulative effect with maintenance applications, which would only require 30 per cent of the original application dosage rate. Further to this, Zero was designed to be effective for up to 18 months with heavier dosage rates.
Since its launch in December last year, Handel said the product had been well received by RST’s customers, which include both small and large quarrying operations.
“[Zero] has been getting great feedback,” he said. “RST operates in a market where praise is rare, so positive feedback is high praise.”
RST is headquartered in Burleigh Heads, Queensland with a second Australian office in Carlisle, Western Australia. Its operations also extend overseas to regions including North and South America, Africa, Asia and Oceania.
