Stackers make impact in remote mines

Crushing Mining & Equipment, an authorised distributor for the Trackstack range of bulk handling equipment, commissioned the machines at Fortescue Metals Group?s Solomon and Cloud Break iron ore mines located in Australia?s north west in mid-September.
The machines have been sold to WPH Plant Hire & Crushing Services, a contract crushing and screening company offering plant hire services including equipment, operators and customised management.
The three 8042TSL Trackstack radial stackers and three 8042T Trackstack straight stackers, part of Trackstack?s compact range, feature hydraulically folding head and tail sections for easy transport, Deutz 4 cylinder, 53kW diesel powerpacks and heavy duty robust designs.
The design of the Trackstack range allows for tail drum height adjustment while at the same time maintaining the head drum height, therefore allowing for an increased stockpile capacity.
WPH?s primary reason for choosing the Trackstack stackers was the heavy duty design, with the straight stackers weighing 15.5 tonnes and the radial stackers weighing 19 tonnes, making them ideal for harsh conditions.
According to CME, these stackers are the heaviest units on the market by at least five tonnes.
Several other factors contributing to WPH?s purchase of the 8042T and 8042TSL Trackstacks were reduced fuel and operator costs, greater stockpile capacities and increased tonnages.
