ADTs climb to next stage of ?evolutionary? ladder

Bell says it has taken an evolutionary approach to a design that delivers production boosting payloads, lower daily operating costs, superior ride quality and uncompromised safety standards.

{{image2-a:r-w:200}}Advanced emissions technology provides rapid engine response and dependable cold-start performance, faster haul cycles and improved fuel efficiency. This results in a truck that moves more material at a lower cost per tonne for maximum productivity and profitability.

Purpose-built for harsh conditions, the E-series incorporates a central oscillation joint, high suspension travel on all axles and balanced weight distribution for greater agility when navigating varied terrain. A dual engine braking capacity, coupled with automated transmission retardation, contributes to greater slowing power and reduced brake wear in the vehicle. Retarder aggressiveness can be adjusted to ensure controlled descent in all conditions. A high strength welded-alloy steel chassis and reinforced articulation joints offer greater strength and durability. The E-series also has a lower machine mass to reduce powertrain and structural stress.

{{image3-a:l-w:200}}The E-series has been designed to improve the operator experience. A sound-suppressed cab features strategically positioned controls, an advanced diagnostic monitor and a sealed-switch module for convenient, fingertip operation of multiple functions. The operator is also assisted by an integrated 10? colour screen and an automotive mouse to control the interface. The E-series is the first ADT to offer this kind of automotive technology. Modern machine styling and cab ergonomics, coupled with a high visibility mirror package and positioning lights higher in the body, provide improved visibility for the operator.

Bell says the E-series also has groundbreaking safety innovations. The adaptive transmission control adjusts clutch engagement for smooth and consistent shifts throughout the life of the truck. Independent features such as keyless start, hill start assist, bin tip prevention, auto park application, standard turbo spin protection and on-board weighing are standard in the E-series.

{{image4-a:r-w:200}}For improved safety and productivity, the E-series has an automatic inter-axle differential lock, giving the vehicle full automatic traction control. The park brake automatically applies when neutral is selected on hill starts. It is only released once a pre-programmable engine torque has been reached to ensure a controlled pull-away with no rollback, even on the steepest of inclines. The slope is calculated by the exclusive on-board inclinometer, which is another Bell ADT first.

With its continuous development philosophy, Bell Equipment is confident the E-series platform will further strengthen its pedigree as the ADT specialist. ?
