WA quarries must have project management plans

Any operation that falls under the Act must have a project management plan (PMP) in place to outline hazards and strategies for controlling risk. The PMP must be approved by the State Mining Engineer of the Department of Mines and Petroleum.
Without a PMP, the safety of workers may be compromised and the Department?s mines inspectors will suspend operations until one is approved.
The Department has resources to assist operators to speed up the PMP process.
The Department has a dedicated small quarries and sandpits webpage to provide easy access to information.
