Wheel Loader, Artic Hauler Work in Perfect Tandem

In the mining and quarrying segments, where lowering the total cost of ownership is paramount to maintaining a competitive edge, customers have long sought out perfectly matched wheel loaders and articulated haulers to work side by side in harsh conditions and for long hours. Now, for quarry and mining customers, Volvo has answered that demand with what it perceives is a unique production wheel loader that conveniently complements the Volvo wheel loader range. Combining power, precision, intelligence, reliability, safety, performance and efficiency, the all-new Volvo L250G wheel loader and the Volvo A40F articulated hauler are a perfect fit.

Whether working in a face-loading application or on a re-handling application in mining or quarrying, the L250G and the A40F work well in tandem to lower the customer?s cost per tonne while delivering the quality, safety and environmental care for which Volvo machines are known.

The L250G features a 5.5m3 rock bucket for face loading, making it an ideal, efficient four-pass loader for the A40F. For re-handling applications, the L250G features a 6.7m3 re-handling bucket, making it a perfect three-pass loader. The L250G?s many bucket and teeth combinations cater to the materials of differing densities that are often handled in these segments. The Volvo L250G wheel loader comes with a fuel-efficient Volvo D13 engine, which develops high torque at low rpm, delivering powerful performance at lowered fuel costs. It also comes with the Volvo-patented Opti-Shift and Eco-pedal concepts. Together, all these fuel-saving features ensure optimum performance, delivering the lowest cost per tonne to the customer.

BEST USE OF POWER, TORQUE

Similarly, the Volvo A40F articulated hauler features a high torque, low rpm D16 engine, purpose-built to exactly match the Volvo drive train, thereby ensuring the best use of power and torque, even in tough working conditions.

The A40F also offers a unique automatic traction control (ATC) feature and an automatic feedback steering system to help the operator achieve the best possible machine performance and productivity.

The heavy-duty load body is made from HB400 steel, and a powerful, load-sensing ?closed centre? hydraulic system and double acting, single-stage hoist cylinders raise the body even on steep downhill gradients. The system allows for precise, controllable dumping, shortening cycle times and aiding safety.

To further enhance the one-two punch of the L250G and the A40F, both machines have the potential to be even more productive with the advanced Volvo CareTrack telematics system, which allows equipment managers to maximise productivity and availability. Using GPRS or satellite technology to transmit information, data is available online immediately. Fault reporting, activity warnings and remote diagnosis allow machine problems to be identified sooner and resolved more quickly. Functions that monitor fuel consumption, hours of operation, speed, and approaching service dates further maximise machine productivity.

On their own, the L250G wheel loader and the Volvo A40F articulated hauler have power and performance in spades. But when paired, they work together in perfect harmony. The greater the compatibility on the job site, the better the efficiency ? and that makes all the difference in a segment like quarrying or mining.?
