Two decades of Queensland exhibitions

Key elements of QME will include a ?women in mining? day, a careers and
recruitment program, health and welfare sessions and a campaign to
encourage operators, maintenance personnel, shift managers and
supervisors to attend.

Women in mining aims to promote the increasing role women are playing in the industry and encourage greater participation.

The careers and recruitment program will bring together mining companies
with people who are looking at careers and opportunities in mining.

Paul Baker, the exhibition director of Reed Mining Events, said that the
organisers were keen to encourage those already in the industry and
working in frontline roles to come along to QME.

?It is a once in two years opportunity for them to see at first hand the
latest products, services and techniques that they are likely to be
working with in the future,? he said.

?It?s also an opportunity for them to identify for their employers new
products and services which should be considered ? as well as giving
?hands-on? feedback to exhibitors and suppliers.?
