Recycled granite becomes reality

Rather than have the granite waste end up as landfill, it turns it into an environmentally friendly building product that can help achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) points.
Recycling what would be waste granite into cladding, paving and landscaping means less waste and a new income stream.
Waste to Value Stone has been able to achieve this by designing a machine ? the Tomahawk Stone Splitter – to cut waste pieces into other products. The company has since worked with a German company to develop an adhesive to laminate the granite.
Together, these two products enable the leftover granite to be fashioned into feature walls, splash backs, flooring and landscaping stone.
In order to market the end products and to offer business opportunities to others, Waste to Value Stone owners Louwrens and Riana Mulder have formed a company called Granivations.
