Improved Efficiency, Control in Remote Management System

Hi-mate is provided as a standard feature on all Hyundai excavators 14 tonnes and larger and on all Hyundai wheel loaders. Two years? subscription is also provided as a standard feature with a minimal ongoing annual fee applied after this period.

Designed to enable machine owners and fleet managers to track, trace, monitor and report on their Hyundai fleet, Hi-Mate is an equipment-based performance management tool. Utilising both GPS and GIS (Geographic Information System) technologies to pinpoint a machine?s location, Hi-mate will retrieve operational data from the machine and then report and store the captured data on an easy to use and navigate internet portal. The uploaded data is transformed into graphs, reports and tables that can then be reviewed by the owner/fleet manager, the local Hyundai dealer and/or the factory.

Why review the data on three levels you may ask? Hi-Mate provides a wide range of reports that allow authorised parties to visualise a machine?s operational characteristics such as engine and hydraulic pressures/temperatures, fuel consumption, machine modes selection, and location information. Each report and graph acts as a key performance indicator and can be used to critique machine set-up, operation, operator performance and/or track historical machine tracking information (where and when the machine moved, where to and how far).

For the owner/fleet manager, this information will act as a vital business tool which ensures machine application efficiency and monitoring of operator performance. The owner?s Hyundai dealer and the factory can monitor the machine to prepare and schedule upcoming maintenance programs, diagnose operational problems, and minimise downtime through the synchronisation of spare part stock and logistics management.

Hi-Mate allows Hyundai service engineers to better assist in the event of a malfunction in the hydraulic system, electric system or engine and easily rectify any warrantable issues. Furthermore, Hyundai?s research and development department gathers Hi-Mate information to assist in evolving the end product and delivery of service and parts solutions.

Hi-mate also allows potential second-hand customers a better understanding of the machine?s background, service and operational history. What this means is that once the machine is ready for sale, the owner of the Dash 9 Hi-mate machine can negotiate a better trade-in price.

In a quarrying application, Hi-mate can act as a valuable decision-making tool when accessing load cycle and analysing production costs. For example, a quarry site runs multiple truck and dogs along with a Dash 9 excavator with Hi-mate. The excavator is expected to operate for 10 hours in a day moving material. If the owner of the excavator notices a trend developing that the excavator is sitting idle for one hour per day, then the owner would talk to the operator to see why that is so. The most likely reason would be because of the waiting time for the next truck to pull in. For the quarry site, this could mean amongst many options, acquiring another truck and dog to increase productivity. Simply put, using Hi-mate, quarry sites can assess the quantity of truck and dogs required to maximise the utilisation of the excavator, reducing idle time between trucks.

In short, Hi-Mate will give added security and peace of mind to owners/fleet managers and help better manage business assets. It will not only help to ensure that machines are properly maintained and operating costs controlled but also further enhance the efficiency of any company?s practices if correctly utilised.
