New submersible pump promises relief in sand applications.

Australian Pump Industries has launched a new series of heavy duty submersible dewatering pumps, with the potential for use in sand applications.

The Tsurumi KTZ series pumps offer capacities of up to 2400 litres per minute flow, and heads as high as 50 metres. The complete series of pumps with bores from 50mm to 150mm are available in a three phase, two pole configuration, and standard cast iron body construction. They are made from cast iron for high durability compared to lighter weight aluminium pumps with similar performance.

The pump?s features include a newly developed mechanical seal that allows water pressures of up to 142 psi. The seal also has a unique oil lifter for enhancing sealing performance. The exceptional design enables the lifter to oil the top seal faces, even if the lubricant level drops below manufacturer?s recommendations. The lubrication cools the seal faces, providing longer life.

The Tsurumi KTZ dewatering pump range features a high capacity, semi-open style impeller to enable a combination of flow and pressure, even in the toughest conditions.

The impeller is made from high chrome cast iron for wear resistance, and the suction cover from ductile cast iron. The shaft seal is a double design, silicon carbide, while the pump shaft is 420 grade stainless steel.

The pump?s design enables the liquid to pass through its casing, providing cooling to the motor and extending motor life. Standard equipment includes a heavy duty eight metre cable to Tsurumi?s unique anti-wicking block which prevents the ingress of water into the motor even if the cable is damaged or worn.
