Applications sought for IQA Awards
The Institute of Quarrying Australia is seeking applications for its
annual awards in areas such as OHS, innovation, continuous improvement
and environmental management.
“People in the industry like you are often eligible for these great awards, but say they are too busy to apply” said Geoff West, the chairman of the IQA awards committee.
“Well now it’s simple, it just takes a phone call to start and the prizes are great for your career and recognition.
“We aren’t looking for supermen, just solid successful operators in the industry doing a good job. What you are doing right now as part of your job may make you eligible.”
Eligibility for industry professionals is simple with just a phone call needed to start the process.
There are eight awards varying in size from $2000 for a technical paper to a trip to Volvo in Sweden.
Bradken – Advancement of OHS, $2500 for travel
Rocktec – Excellence & Innovation, $5000 for travel
Volvo – Environmental management, trip to Volvo Sweden
Atlas Copco – Technical paper, $2000
Caterpillar – Continuous improvement, $5000 for study tour
Esco – Young member contribution, $5000 to attend IQA conference
Alex Northover – Training evidence submitted to RTO, $2500
IQA Service – Service to the IQA, trophy
Applications close on Tuesday 31 July, 2012.
